Exactly How To Make Love On Top Of A Table

Making Love is awesome no matter where you have it. But there's one location that apparently has a special place in our hearts.
A new poll found that "tabletop" love making—where you sit on a table and your man stands in front of you—was the position women most wanted to try.
Makes sense, says therapist Ian Kerner, Ph.D. It's primal and offers "easy clitoral stimulation."
But, not to be a mood killer, how practical is it? To find out the best kinds of tables to make love on, we talked to carpenter and general contractor Pat Liska of Liska Construction in Verona, New Jersey. Here's she gives us the blueprint of what you should look for in a love making-worthy table.
1. Height: The table should hit your guy at waist level, so your best bet is a kitchen table (30 inches is standard). If he's on the short side, try a desk (usually a scooch lower at 28 inches). Opt for one that's flush against a wall.
2. Surface materials: Glass can be too slippery. And try to avoid cheaper tables you've assembled yourself—they're usually made of flimsy particleboard, and the hollowness can make awkward creaking sounds. (Speaking of slippery, don't forget the lube! Check out this organic lube from the Women's Health Boutique.)
3. Legs: Thrust on skinny or tapered ones and screws could loosen. (And collapse. Not the climax you're after!)
